The room-sized project explores the artists concerns of genetically altered foods, cloned animals and the hybridization of the material world. Crossing the boundaries of conventional ceramics, Beiners focus is making what is organic synthetic. Synthetic Reality uses encrusted walls, floors and ceiling space to surround the viewer in an imagined world of manufactured, hybridized life.
